Smashing

Not the weekend we planned, but did accomplish some things.

Hit Lake Hope for the first time since Easter (other than taking Ethan for a pre-ride of his kids race).  The only thing slow about the trails was me.  Was good to be out though.

Hope Furnace in to Bobcat, Wildcat, Copperhead.
Sunday ended with a moon-lit run.  Smashed my previous 2 mile best time of 16:10 with a 15:32.  Don't know what got into me.

Updates

A lot going on...

The fam started back to school this week.  Meaning, I am now up at 5:30 to get ready before they do and then make sure they do.

I have actually been able to run 5 times and ride once in the last two weeks.  Got my first pair of purpose made running shoes, just for running.  All in effort to run the Hocking Hills Indian Trial Run in Sept. (Just the 5k).

I also gave in on changing my own tires, on the back of the Buell at least.  The tire really kicked my butt, luckily Athens Sport Cycles were great to me (as usual) and changed my tire.  Shoulder is still a little sore from busting myself with the tire lever.  Good news is I have new skin on the bike and will be back on the road.

2010 OMBC - Lake Hope

Sunday was the OMBC stop at Lake Hope. I was way too far out of race shape to participate, but Ethan raced the kids event. It is the longest kids race on the OMBC schedule with 3.5 miles of gravel roads, singletrack, and asphalt. He came in first overall in just a little over 27 minutes! Great job E.

Ethan, just about to make the turn up the connector to the finish.
Brock, ready to cheer on his big brother.
