Ed Waldron

The world is a better place because of Ed Waldron. This man had a heart bigger than his head, loved Jesus, and lived it everyday. I am a better man for knowing him. It is a tough to say good bye to him, especially as he was so young, only 61. Of course, those who knew Ed never thought he would live this long. But we all expected him to die in a tractor accident while he was bush-hogging, standing on the seat, and trimming tree limbs with a chainsaw, not by succumbing to cancer. I thank God that we had Ed for as long as we did, but I am really going to miss him.

Yes, that's Ed standing on top of the beam with the sledgehammer.

It's official... I am old

Snapping hip syndrome?  Really?  Turns out I have an inflamed tendon that is "snapping" over my left hip joint during hip extension, especially when running, climbing up stairs, or pedaling out of the saddle on the bike.

To top that, I am fighting a sore throat.  This only a week after finishing 10 days of antibiotics for a respiratory infection.

Very little training going on.

Still have not bought a new bike.

Missed the Gravel Rouser due to childcare issues.

Season is getting off to a great start.

Water water everywhere

Not much to post. Between youth basketball, work, church, rain, snow, sickness, and Brock, about the only riding I have done is on the rollers in the basement at 9:30 at night.

The Specialized Epic road bike is still for sale as I am trying to decide between a Masi Gran Crit (steel lugged) and the Masi Evo (full carbon with tapered steerer and BB30. The steel bike is about 2 pounds heavier but so darn sexy.

Got out for an hour ride yesterday on a rare spring like afternoon, after going to Pomeroy at lunch. River was really high. Up to the shop doors on main with it not cresting until today.
